Act 1: Story Halloween is right around the corner, and everyone is trying to guess what crazy thing will happen this year. Bart thinks all of the guesses are pretty lame and is afraid that one of them might actually happen, so to push fate in the direction he thinks will be more fun, and to see some monsters that he thinks will be cooler, Bart hatches a scheme to try to entice the Ki-Ya Karate Monsters to come to Earth by insulting them with bogus character rankings. Unfortunately, his message is received by the Xylem, who come to Earth and try to take over Springfield with monster trees.
