Ceefax didn't shut down until 2012, some teletext services were still around then though https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletext ^^ text info hidden in TV broadcast that TVs with a decoder could display. Used to be ads for holidays on the commercial channels too.

used to love Oracle/Teletext. Had Digitiser, Bamboozle, Turner the Worm and briefly a Knightmare game too.
