…Poor Mary and Joseph travelled all the way from Nazareth to Bethlehem so that they could be counted in the census. As Mary was very very pregnant, she sat a top the family donkey as Joseph led it on the windy road to his home town.

When they arrived in Bethlehem, Joseph went to his family home… but they had gotten there too late - all of his brothers and their families had arrived before him, and the house was full.

Now, it’s been recently debated whether or not Mary and Joseph went to the Inn to try to find a room, but ended up in a stable OR if they ended up in the room/stable in his family house where they kept all of their animals. So I’ll let you decide where you want them to be.

In any case, Mary went into labour, and needed a place to go ASAP. So they ended up in the stable. There were cows and chickens and raccoons and foxes and cats and bunnies and birdies… and the little baby Jesus came into this world. He was super cute! And super Holy. :innocent:

Now, out in the field, the Angel Gabriel appeared to Big Phil, who was tending to his flock of fellow cows. The Angel told him about the wonderful news of the birth of Jesus Christ! He was very excited, and quickly made his way to the stable, trotting all the way!

Several months earlier, three “wise” guys Nelly, Foxy and Spyder had set out on a journey to follow a bright star that sat stationary in the sky. It led them to the stable on the very night of Jesus’ birth! There they found Mary, Joseph and Big Phil all looking adoringly at the baby Jesus. :eyes:

Mary and Joseph were a bit weirded out when they saw a coffee mug, fox and spyder at the stable door, but Nelly told Mary and Joseph that they had brought gifts for the new king so they let them in. Nelly presented baby Jesus with a smooth dark blend of coffee. Spyder gave baby Jesus a shiny blankie made from silky webs. Foxy gave baby Jesus a get out gif so baby Jesus could use it as a reply for any bad puns he came across in the future.

The little drummer raccoon Castiel had heard the news too! He brought his drum with him and played a lovely beat for the baby Jesus. To be fair, the drum was a garbage bin and the drum sticks were leftover bacon carrots… but he made it work!

Just then they all heard a loud knock at the stable doors. It was AlUnited yelling at everyone to keep down the noise because he was watching a footy match! But when he saw the baby Jesus, he joined in the celebration - how could he not?!? He even let Phil hook up his iPad to a projector so that everyone could watch the footy match with him up on the stable wall!

All of the commotion could be heard from the shoutbox. Brooders, Kathy, FeliciaFancy, Rachael and Sue were all having a girls night party in there. They decided to check out the stable to see what was going on. Mary and Joseph looked very surprised to see a cat, blue bird, flamingo, magical being and bunny at the door, but welcomed them in to help celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. Everyone was welcome!

Hearing this, Brooders called Toasty, and arranged for him to draw a wonderful banner to announce the good news! She also invited him to the stable. He brought Graham with him to help carry the very large banner. When they got there, Graham told Brooders his idea! He suggested calling Cube so that he could fly the banner (towed behind his Lego plane) all around town! That way everyone could join the celebration! Cube was happy to do it! And he joined the party after a few passes over Bethlehem.

Debbie, Lolambra, Rhi, Tim and Sharky saw the banner and quickly made their way to the stable. They brought cake and beverages! And little sandwiches! The party was in full swing now! :sparkles:

When Alissa heard about the party, she made sure that she posted all about the birth of baby Jesus on Addicts. The news was just too big and too wonderful not to. Then she headed over to the stable to join in the fun!

After a while, Joseph and Mary decided that it was time for baby Jesus to have some quiet time. So baby Jesus and all of his TOuk friends drifted off to sleepy land. Mary and Joseph were a bit surprised that everyone stayed… but they just went with it.

Wonderful story - and true as well! It’s a lot less sacrilegious than what I ad-libbed as a 7 year old in my school nativity play… ! :grimacing:
