I checked it out again in early October to see it marked Retiring Soon. It'll be de-listed on New Year's Eve, and was shown as Temporarily Out of Stock. A week later Lego said Sold Out so I went hunting and found it discounted at a place in Berlin. The bargain price tempered a little by the message there'd be import costs but offered a further discount if I paid by Bank Transfer. It took 24 hours for it to show payment received and another week of them changing expected dispatch dates so it always said tomorrow - gettin' nervous by now. Finally it's marked as shipped but another two days until parcel tracking said collected and on its' way last Friday. Once finally in the UK it's stuck in Customs before it showed on Tuesday that there's fees to pay, but not how much, so I ended up phoning Parcelforce on Thursday to find it was more than expected. Yesterday there's a knock and a Sorry We Missed You card been posted in the few seconds it took me to get to the door. Luckily I caught the postie. Looks like the sender put the list price in Euro's on the export paperwork but that's not clear, so I paid VAT as if it was GBP. That's why the fees were higher and I need to try and fix that yet, but it still worked out £68 less than if Lego did have it or I'd bought it from a UK store - so that's a win.
