Pic is me for the rest of that day. :)Long story short (and don’t worry - everyone is ok) - my dad fell down the stairs last night. He’s 86. He is ok - just bruised and he has a cut on his elbow. He didn’t hit his head (I checked his pupils to see if there was any indication of a concussion), and he didn’t break anything (we are pretty sure… but he is where I get that strange pain threshold thing from - we’ve both walked around with injuries and didn’t realize until much later). He is able to walk, and just feels sore. After his fall (which I heard - it was awful and I knew exactly what I was hearing, and jumped to my feet and ran upstairs before he even landed) I lifted him up, got him back upstairs, and once he was on his feet he could walk normally. I cleaned up his cut. Then I went downstairs, cleaned up the mess (he broke a shelf on the bookshelf at the bottom of the stairs, and spilled his drink all over the place). Then my anxiety shut down started - this is when I am so overwhelmed I can’t even panic. I just can’t do anything. So I called my sister and she came over just to double check that I didn’t miss anything with my dad. She also helped me clean up the mess a bit. But… When I was lifting him up (which was difficult - he was in a super awkward position, and was not able to help me much), I sort of strained my back. And I started feeling it about 30 minutes later (which is a lot faster than normal for me), so I know I did a number on it. I was just at my accupuncture and cupping appointment, and she said it was definitely off - it looked slightly swollen. Soooooo… take out dinner tonight and as much blankie time as possible for me tonight. :)
