Sooooo we are having severe thunderstorms here in Toronto. The power went out at around 5:25pm and is still out. Big tree branches went down - one almost hit my neighbours car, but just missed it. Our car appears to be ok. That branch may have been responsible for the internet outage, as it hit a wire on the way down. I think the power outage was caused elsewhere, as the whole neighbourhood is out.
I have a portable battery (EcoFlow) so I have the modem connected to it so we have phone and WiFi (at first, our provider was down, so I couldn’t get it working. I was using my cellphone to get us connected to the internet for TV on my iPad - my cellphone is witj a different provider), but after about 45 minutes the modem finally connected.
Power is out all over Toronto. My brother in law is stuck downtown right now, as the subway/metro is down between a few stations. So he went to a movie! My sister’s basement is flooded, and the power is out in her neighbourhood too. :/

And it looks like out power will be out until about mid day tomorrow because of the sheer volume of power outages in the city (crews have many areas they need to get to). Fun! :/

It was defo something! Around 10:30pm, Stephtopia got her power back. And Mattopia made it home from downtown shortly before that. So they went to clean up their flooded basement when the power came back on (we were texting to check on each other throughout the evening).

It came back in 30 minutes later. My portable a/c wouldn’t start again… but I knew what to do, so it was easier to get it going again. So I got to bed around 3am. Power has been on since! :)
